GST collections jump 14.8% to Rs 1.99 lakh crore in August

The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue rose 14.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,99,853 crore in August 2026, according to provisional government data released on Tuesday.Net GST revenue for the month, after refunds, increased 8.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,68,057 crore from Rs 1,55,181 crore a year ago.The rise in gross collections was driven by both domestic transactions and imports.
